Do you ever feel awkward when you pray in front of others and do not know what you should pray about?  If you have, then this post should give you a few ideas on what to say.

In my review of Paul’s prayers in Ephesians and his first one in Philippians, I noted that he prayed primarily for spiritual things (that God may give them the spirit of wisdom and revelation to know Him better, that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith, etc.).  However, after reading Philippians 4:6-7, I realized that we can pray for anything and everything.  I then re-read Paul’s letters in Ephesians and Philippians to see what he focused on, and it was how they were to live as Christians.

I made a list of about everything Paul said that we should do and should not do (as Christians), and then organized these into three groups.  I plan to continue to add to the lists as I review other books of the Bible.  In the meantime, if you would like ideas on what to pray for – either for yourself or others – please consult the lists below.
