Philemon: Salvation Outline

I am going through each book in the New Testament (again) and writing bullet point comments about how a person becomes a Christian and how a Christian should live.  The following notes are from the book of Philemon.

Summary

This short book of one chapter does not contain any verses on how a person becomes a Christian, and contains little on how a Christian should live.

Philemon mentions a few characteristics of true Christians – that they have faith in the Lord Jesus and a love for other believers.

When you become a Christian, you are now a member of God’s family. If you are a male, you are a “brother in the Lord”; a female is a “sister in the Lord.”  Thus, a Christian man from Iran, Africa, China, S. America, etc., is a spiritual relative of yours, and someone you can have fellowship with. In contrast, the theory of evolution and prejudices have caused the world to view people with a national origin and/or race other than yours in a different, and at times negative (or discriminatory) way.
