OVERVIEW OF BOOK
If a biography were written about you, what would it say? Would you want others to read it? To study it?
Matthew, one of the original 12 disciples of Jesus, wrote a biography about Jesus. His book, titled Matthew, is one of four gospels in the New Testament. Gospel means “good news,” and the good news is that Jesus came to save sinners like you and me.
This book starts with Jesus’ lineage (which goes back to David and Abraham) and birth, moves to his baptism and temptation by Satan, and then spends a lot of time on his teachings (hence the image above) and miracles. The book ends with Jesus’ death and resurrection.
One verse that summarizes much of what Jesus did is 4:23, “Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.”

- Why did Jesus come to earth?
- How many people go to heaven?
- How can you know if you’re a Christian?
Matthew – Part 3 of 5
- How is a person saved, part 1.
Matthew – Part 4 of 5
- How is a person saved, part 2.
Matthew – Part 5 of 5
